Pep Sessions on Walnut
We are bringing back the Pep Sessions this year. Our first one will be September 12, 2025. The Inflatable Rental Co will be at all three with a bounce house, Jordan + Co will have a station for hair tinsel and spirit tattoos, Knueven Creamery will have the ice cream, and Phantasm Design will be there with Titans gear! We will also have a special guest each week!
On Sept 26, Center Stage Dance Academy will be performing at 6:15pm! We will also have Putnam Pet Pals joining us!
The Go Ottawa Challenge
Bike, kayak and run through Ottawa's scenic routes.
This race will consist of three components: biking, kayaking, and trail running. Participants will bike from Arrowhead Park to the Reservoir to the back of the Putnam County Fairgrounds, then kayak back to Arrowhead Park, then run the trail at Arrowhead Park. The biking is approximately 2.75 miles, kayaking approximately 2.5 miles and trail running approximately 0.75 miles. We hope for this to be a fun and challenging event for for all ages. For some the challenge will be: can you complete it? While for others the challenge may be: how fast can you complete it? Either way, it should be a good time.
We have changed the route a bit from last year, to hopefully avoid the water being too low to race. However, if we do run into low river levels, we will use an alternative route kayaking on the Ottawa Reservoir.
Proceeds go to Go Ottawa and our efforts towards making Ottawa more walkable, bikeable and floatable! Race registration includes free t-shirt if registered before 9/20 and a free drink ticket for the end of the race!

Chair-Ity Auction
Save the Date for Go Ottawa’s first ever Chair-ity Auction, where we will auction off unique, artistic chairs created by community members to help with Go Ottawa’s revitalization efforts!
Chairs are currently being transformed, and we will be collecting them on August 13, 2025. They will be on display at local establishments until 9/9/25. See list of display locations above. The fan favorite chairs will all be live auctioned on September 11 at the Schroeder Center for Arts. The rest of the chairs will be part of a silent auction!

Ottawa Police Department's National Night Out
National Night Out in Ottawa, Ohio, is an annual community-building event that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. It's organized by the Ottawa Police Department and takes place on Tuesday, August 5th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This year, they are partnering with Pathways Counseling Center for their Overdose Awareness and Recovery Celebration.
Free kids activities, including touch-a-truck, swimming, and food!
Cruising the Blanchard Poker Run & Fun - Hosted by Greenspace Development Committee and Ottawa K of C
The Greenspace Development Committee and Ottawa K of C are hosting the Cruising the Blanchard Poker Run & Fun on August 2, 2025.
Registration for the Poker Run starts at 9:30am at the Ottawa Reservoir Boat Launch. Registration is $20/person. This price includes all you can eat hamburgers/hotdogs, snacks and drinks for lunch at Arrowhead Park. Cash prizes for the Poker Run!
Participants will be on the water at 10am.
From 12pm-2pm lunch will be available at Arrowhead Park.
Non-Poker Run participants are invited to join us for lunch. Hamburgers will be $4 and everything else will be $1 each.
We are encouraging participants to find unique trash items again this year! Help make our river a little bit cleaner, while having a bit of fun at the same time.

“House Call” site visits will be made at up to 10 properties on the morning of June 26. If
you would like your historic commercial building, church, public building or home to be one
of the site visits, you may do so online at building-doctor.org or 614-298-2000. Attendance
at the June 25 evening program is required in order to have a site visit.
The local host for the program is the Putnam County CIC, questions may be directed to
419-523-5595.
The Building Doctor is a program of the State Historic Preservation Office of the Ohio
History Connection.
PCCIC is thrilled to be working with Putnam County native Andy Verhoff, Ohio History Fund
and Outreach Manager for SHPO/Ohio History Connection, to bring the program to the
community.
